Why God Says "No" to Prayer
Have you ever wondered why God sometimes says “no” to our prayers? It may seem confusing because you think you must have it answered your way, but God knows better. He knows what’s going to happen in the future, and that’s why he says no sometimes. You see, his spectrum is bigger than yours, and so he knows why he needs to say no. It all depends on our view. Here’s a funny story to illustrate the difference between our views, and God's.
Not too long ago I went to Μichigan to visit my cousin. I was traveling with my brother and my Grandparents. The car we were driving in was a car that had a sunroof. It was very nifty for looking out into the sky, so we had it opened.
By and by my Grandpa needed it closed again, and so he closed the cover. I mean he tried to close it, but it didn’t work so well. The switch to close it moves back and forth, and he was trying to figure out which way was closing it. My brother and I could see which one was closing it, but he couldn’t because he was in the front seat and it hadn’t come completely over yet.
It went like this: He would move the switch forward, which closed it, but just as it got near to coming over him, he would decide that it wasn’t coming over and try the other way, which opened it again. He tried again this way and that. He was on the phone otherwise he would have probably gotten it by then. My brother and I were doubling over in laughter, trying to hide behind our teddy bears and dolls. Finally, my Grandpa looked around and discovered that it was right over his head, almost closing the window.
We as humans are often like that. We don’t realize that God sees the whole view, and that’s why he sometimes says no. If we will just accept that and go along with his plans, we will avoid a lot of trouble.
